Maintaining a garden in the yard is a great way to improve curb appeal and score some free food throughout the year. To ensure that you actually use the space and want to make time for gardening, you'll need to make comfort a priority. Here are a few tips you can use to create a comfortable, productive gardening space in your garden:
Have a Porch Built
Having a porch built is an excellent way to ensure your comfort while spending time in the garden, and extend the length of time you want to spend working there. Have a contractor build a wooden or concrete porch with a covered top close to the ground so it's easy to access and will protect your gardening equipment in inclement weather. Some design ideas to consider implementing into your build include:
Sit down with your landscaper and porch building contractor to create a solid design plan that incorporates features that will meet your gardening needs and preferences for years to come.
Install Solar Lighting
It's a good idea to install some solar lighting for your porch space so you can garden early in the morning or into the evening without having to worry about holding a flashlight to do so. Invest in a small, 10 to 20-watt solar kit, a deep cycle battery, and two or three LED lights that can be hung from the roof on your porch. Alternatively, you can use strings of small white LED lights, such as those made to decorate for Christmas, to decorate your porch space with and create some lighting.
Plan Your Projects
Always making sure that you have at least one project planned ahead of time will give you a game plan to follow anytime you're motivated to work in your garden area. You'll be more likely to spend time in the garden if you have a plan in place as opposed to simply heading there and trying to come up with something to do aside from caring for the foliage you've already planted. Take the time to plan two initial projects before using your new garden space. After you complete one project, plan another one so you always have two to choose from.
These tips and tricks should help you create an inspirational and comfortable outdoor gardening space that you're motivated to make use of year-round. Talk to companies like Hufnagel Landscaping Inc to get started.Share

For years, my wife and I debated on what we wanted to do with all of the spare land in the back of our house. We were lucky enough to buy a house on an extra-large lot for a great deal, but the land was "going to waste" for quite a while. One day, we finally decided to have a guest house built on it, and now that the house is finished, we wish we had built it long ago. We are now renting it out for some extra income, and it is helping us save for retirement. I have always been fascinated by construction, so I enjoyed watching the professionals build the guest house and learned a lot during the process. I decided to fill some free time by blogging about the experience and sharing some construction info I learned during the process. Come back soon!
